A Toronto man has been charged in connection with an attempted child abduction in Caledon last week. Ontario Provincial Police say they responded to the area of Dotchson Avenue and Sparrowbrook Street at 7:20 p.m. on Saturday. A complainant informed officers that a man approached a group of children and tried to persuade them to get into his vehicle, police say. The children refused, and the man drove away. On Wednesday, police say they have arrested a 74-year-old man and charged him with abduction of a person under 14. “Investigators believe there may be additional victims and are appealing for parents or guardians to speak with their children regarding the possibility of similar instances,” police say. The accused was not named, but police say he is of South Asian descent and was driving a white Honda Civic with extensive front-end damage.
