Nova Scotians can now book, reschedule road tests online

The province of Nova Scotia has launched a new online tool for people looking to book a road test.

The tests can now be booked and paid for online. People can also cancel, reschedule or make changes to a scheduled road test.

The new service was first launched in Lower Sackville in June and has since expanded to other areas.

It is currently only available for a standard driver’s licence, though the province says it will expand later this year to include all other types.

Previously, road tests could only be booked or changed by calling Access Nova Scotia locations.

“Preparing for a driver’s test can be stressful enough. Allowing people to book online puts them in control and makes the whole process faster, simpler and stress-free,” said Minister of Cyber Security and Digital Solutions Jill Balser.

A Dartmouth-based driving school says the change also supports their student drivers.

“This is a huge support for us as a business and is especially convenient for individual drivers who are managing their own appointments,” said Kaylee Marshall, the owner of 360 Defensive Driving School.

More than 4,600 road tests have been booked since the service was launched.

The current cost for a road test in Nova Scotia is $52.54.
