A man has been charged with aggravated assault after a youth suffered life-threatening injuries in Eskasoni, N.S., according to the RCMP. Police responded to a report of an injured youth outside a school on Shore Road around 4:05 a.m. Sunday. According to a news release from RCMP Wednesday, several people witnessed an altercation between the youth and a man. Shortly after the altercation the youth collapsed. Police say the youth had life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital by EHS. Police later identified the man as 19-year-old Landon Francis, who was arrested when he went to the Baddeck RCMP detachment. Francis was charged with aggravated assault and appeared in court on Monday. He was released on conditions pending a future appearance. The investigation is ongoing.
