After a long winter it’s officially spring-cleaning season, and cleaning up a major section of Highbury Avenue is on the city’s to-do list. According to a news release, the City of London says clean-up crews will be conducting spring cleaning of Highbury Avenue South. Because crews need full access to the road, Highbury Avenue South between Hamilton Road and Highway 401 will be temporarily closed on Thursday. The city says the closure will begin at 9 a.m. and continue into the late afternoon. Northbound traffic on Highbury Avenue South exiting Highway 401 can use the Bradley Avenue exit ramp, while drivers going southbound will be detoured at Hamilton Road and will need to use alternative routes to reach their destination. The city says drivers can expect delays and must follow posted detours. Drivers are asked to plan accordingly before heading out, while transit users can visit the London Transit website for service updates.
