A man is facing charges, including kidnapping and assault, following an incident of alleged intimate partner violence outside Bridgewater, N.S., three weeks ago. Lunenburg District RCMP responded to a report of an assault on Conquerall Mills Road in Hebbville on May 27 around 6:40 a.m. Police say a man assaulted a woman outside a home and then forced her inside. “Upon arrival, officers immediately entered the home and located a woman not believed to be involved in the assault,” reads an RCMP news release. “The woman refuted officers’ belief that another woman and man were inside the home and actively attempted to obstruct officers trying to find the victim and suspect.” Police say the woman was removed from the home as officers continued to search inside. The victim was then found with non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to hospital by EHS. The man, who was allegedly hiding inside the home, was found and arrested “a short time later.” The release says Tyler Michael Drennan of Hebbville has been charged with: The 35-year-old was remanded into custody pending a future court appearance. Anna Louise Maughan, 61, of Hebbville, was charged on June 7 with obstructing a peace officer. She was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Bridgewater provincial court on July 2.
