Another candidate has entered the race to become Winnipeg’s next mayor. Tracey Drexler is the 13th person to register as a mayoral candidate for the Oct. 28 election. According to an Instagram video posted on Tuesday, Drexler said, if elected, she would prioritize addressing the city’s addiction and homelessness crisis. CTV News has reached out to Drexler for more details on her campaign. She joins a growing list of mayoral candidates who have registered ahead of the Sept. 22 deadline. Other candidates who have already filed their papers are incumbent Scott Gillingham, Kevin Klein, Chris Clacio, Mike Vogiatzakis, Umar Hayat, Mazher Alam, Don Woodstock, Joshua Pagdato, Johnny Calderón, Noah Redden, Zachary Uminski and Brad Gross. The 2026 municipal election takes place on Oct. 28.
