Halifax police are investigating an impaired driving offence following a single-vehicle crash in Goffs, N.S. The RCMP, EHS, and fire services responded to a report of a crash in the 2400 block of Old Guysborough Road around 11:25 p.m. Thursday. “A subscription-based vehicle safety, security and communication service reported that a Cadillac XT4 had experienced an airbag deployment and that the service had been unable to contact the driver,” reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP. When officers arrived, they found the Cadillac in a ditch with front-end damage. The 52-year-old driver, who police say was the only person in the XT4, was removed from the vehicle by fire services. “Due to the man’s injuries, he was unable to provide breath samples. However, officers observed signs of impairment and are continuing the impaired driving investigation through a blood warrant,” reads the release. Police are asking anyone with information that could help further the investigation, including dashcam footage or video surveillance of the Cadillac travelling on Old Guysborough Road between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., to contact RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment at 902-490-5020 or Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- 8477.
