The Highway 111 ramps from the MacKay Bridge in Halifax will be closed on Thursday night and Friday morning as crews continue with work on the Windsor Street Exchange project. The ramps from the bridge and Barrington Street toward Massachusetts Avenue and the Windsor Street Exchange will be closed from 8 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday. “Drivers travelling from Dartmouth to Halifax on the MacKay Bridge will be detoured onto Barrington Street and will not be able to access Highway 111 toward the Windsor Street Exchange,” a news release from the Halifax Regional Municipality reads. “Detour signage and traffic control personnel will be in place.” The bridge will stay open to two-way traffic with lane reductions in place. Access to Dartmouth via the bridge will not be affected. Crews will be removing an overhead highway sign to support construction of a new ramp connection.
