A 194-space child-care centre is opening its doors in the Beaver Bank, N.S., area. It Takes a Village Daycare Society is opening the centre at 925 Windgate Dr. The facility will provide spaces for infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children, according to a news release from the Nova Scotia government. “These 194 new spaces will help ease the pressure on parents and give more children a place to learn, grow and thrive in their own community,” said Braedon Clark, MP for Sackville-Bedford-Preston, in the release. “This is an investment in families, in our economy, and in the next generation.” The new centre received $2 million through the Canada-Nova Scotia Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement. According to the provincial government, more than 9,600 child-care spaces have been created across Nova Scotia since 2021. More than 2,600 are currently under development.
