Saint John police investigating murder after man dies

The Saint John Police Force is investigating a murder on Monday.

The Saint John Police Force is investigating the murder of a man in the Taylor Avenue area early Monday morning.

Police say they responded to a 911 call involving a weapon around 12:17 a.m. and found an unconscious 41-year-old man at the scene. Police say emergency responders were attending to the man, who was seriously injured. He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation. At this time in the investigation, police believe this to be an isolated incident. No arrests have been made at this time,” a news release from Saint John police said.

Saint John Police Forensic Identification Services and the Major Crime Unit continue to investigate.

Police are also investigating an incident around 12:37 a.m. on Foster Thurston Drive, which they believe is connected to the murder.

Investigators are asking anyone with security cameras in the area to review their footage to see if they captured anyone on camera.
