N.B. RCMP search for ‘person of interest’ in counterfeit money investigation

The New Brunswick RCMP is asking for help identifying a “person of interest” in a counterfeit money investigation.

The Saint-Quentin RCMP received a report on April 24 that a man used counterfeit $100 bills at businesses in Kedgwick and Saint-Quentin.

“Police are now releasing surveillance footage photos of the individual in hopes that someone may recognize him,” reads a news release from New Brunswick RCMP.

Police describe the man as in his late 20s or early 30s, medium build, with a shaved head and a beard. He was wearing all black, with a black hat, and travelling in a grey four-door Ford F150.

“The RCMP warns that anyone who circulates counterfeit currency may face arrest and prosecution under the Criminal Code of Canada. If you are a business and you receive a suspicious bill and the suspect is still at the scene, call 911,” reads the release.

Police are asking anyone who recognized the person in the photos, or who has information that could help the investigation, to contact the Saint-Quentin RCMP at 506-235-2149 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
