Storm Watch: School closures, cancellations

Nova Scotia

• Halifax Regional Centre for Education: Due to an issue with the school’s boiler system, classes are canceled at Sackville High School.
• Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education: Schools in Cumberland County, Pictou County and Tatamagouche will have a two-hour delayed opening. Office and worksites will be open.
• Strait Regional Centre for Education: Classes are cancelled at all schools due to weather conditions. In addition, all schools, buildings and worksites (Mulgrave Operations Centre, Bus Garages, Regional Office at SAERC) will delay opening until 10 a.m.
• Cape Breton-Victoria Regional Centre for Education: All schools and worksites are closed.
• CSAP: Classes are cancelled at Centre scolaire Étoile de l’Acadie, École acadienne de Pomquet, Ecole Beau-Port, École NDA, École Belle-Baie.
• St. Francis Xavier University will delay opening until 11 a.m. Classes resume at 11:30 a.m.
• Cape Breton University: Campus is closed for the morning. The status of afternoon classes will be announced by 10 a.m.
• NSCC: Cumberland Campus is delayed opening until 10:30 a.m. Strait Area Campus and Sydney Waterfront Campus are delayed opening until 12 p.m.

New Brunswick

• Anglophone West School District: Schools in Zones 3-9 will be closed due to weather and road conditions.
• Anglophone South School District: Apohaqui Elementary School, Belleisle Elementary School, Belleisle Regional High School, Norton Elementary School, Sussex Corner Elementary School, Sussex Elementary School, Sussex Middle School and Sussex Regional High School are closed.
• Anglophone North School District: Schools in Bathurst, Campbellton, and Dalhousie will have a two-hour delayed start. Schools in Miramichi, Rexton, and Tabusintac are closed.
• Anglophone East School District schools are closed.
• Francophone South School District: All schools are closed except Centre scolaire Samuel-de-Champlain.
• Francophone Northeast School District: All schools are closed due to weather and road conditions. Scheduled activities are canceled. However, all offices and other workplaces remain open.
• Mount Allison University: Due to the weather, campus will delay opening until 12 p.m. All on-campus classes, labs, and activities before 12 p.m. are cancelled.
• University of New Brunswick: Moncton Nursing program is delaying opening until 12 p.m.
• NBCC: NBCC Moncton Campus is opening late at 10 a.m. due to inclement weather. NBCC Woodstock Campus is opening at 12 p.m.

Prince Edward Island

• Public Schools Branch: Classes are cancelled due to weather/travel conditions.
• French Language School Board: Due to weather conditions, all schools will be closed for the day.
• University of Prince Edward Island will delay opening until noon with a further announcement by 10 a.m.
• Holland College: The opening of the Tourism and Culinary Centre and the McMillan Centre for Community Engagement is delayed until 9 a.m. due to inclement weather. A further announcement will be made by 7 a.m.
