Northumberland Ferries cancels crossings between Nova Scotia, P.E.I. due to high winds

Northumberland Ferries Limited has cancelled crossings between Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, and between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, due to high winds this weekend.

All crossings between Wood Islands, P.E.I., and Caribou, N.S., have been cancelled for Friday and Saturday. Northumberland Ferries also advises that high winds could cause service delays on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Fundy Rose crossings between Digby, N.S., and Saint John, N.B., have been cancelled for 4 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.

On Friday, the P.E.I. government restricted the Confederation Bridge to motorcycles, high-sided vehicles, tractor trailers, buses, recreational vehicles and towing trailers due to high winds.

Marine Atlantic has also cancelled all ferry crossings between North Sydney, N.S., and Port aux Basques, N.L., for Friday and Saturday. The 6:30 a.m. crossing on Sunday is also cancelled.
