Hailfax police launch tip website in case of foiled shooting plot

Halifax police have created a new website for tips in their investigation into a foiled shooting plot.

They have also set up an email address for people to provide information about the alleged attack at the Halifax Shopping Centre on Valentine's Day.

Twenty-three-year-old Lindsay Kanittha Souvannarath of Geneva, Illinois, and 20-year-old Randall Steven Shepherd of Halifax are charged with several offences, including conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to commit arson and illegal possession of weapons.

Police say they have received several tips about them and their online activity.

They say they're also getting information about a 19-year-old man from Timberlea who was linked to the alleged plot, but who was found dead in his home.

Police say the website and email should make it easier for people to send them photos, videos or tips.

They say officers may contact people who submit information.

People can also provide material anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
