Freezing temperatures, frost on the way to the Maritimes following high heat

Frost advisories are in effect for most of the Maritimes after heat records were set in the region on Wednesday.

Yellow frost advisories are currently in place for all of New Brunswick.

Environment Canada says freezing temperatures and frost is expected Thursday night.

Temperatures may reach as low as zero in low-lying areas until early Friday morning.

Yellow frost advisories are also in effect for the majority of Nova Scotia.

Clear skies and light winds are expected to coincide with cool temperatures to form patchy frost.

There are currently no weather alerts in place for Prince Edward Island.

CTV Atlantic meteorologist Kalin Mitchell says daytime highs on Thursday will reach the low-to-mid teens.
