TORONTO -- David Arquette was on the verge of tears over sister Patricia's Golden Globe nomination for her supporting role in "Boyhood" Thursday.

"Yayyy, I'm so excited, I'm so excited!" he gushed in a telephone interview Thursday afternoon to promote his new series "Celebrity Name Game," which airs on GameTV in Canada.

"I'm literally going to start crying, I'm so excited."

Patricia Arquette plays a mother of two in "Boyhood," which was written and directed by Richard Linklater. Shot over a 12-year period in Texas, the coming-of-age drama captures the actors' physical changes over that lengthy shooting period, adding a rich realism to the story.

"I loved the film," said David Arquette. "It was such an interesting process, too, to see her throughout that 12-year span go to Austin every year and just see where she's at in her life. She had raised a son a few years before, that was a few years older than the actor in the film, so it felt so real. It just added to its honesty and her ability to portray the character in an honest and true life. I'm just so proud of her and it's really well-deserved.

"We're actors, so we're all really emotional, but I'm just so proud of her."

Hosted by Craig Ferguson, "Celebrity Name Game" pairs well-known personalities with contestants in order to identify famous names based on improvised clues. It's executive produced by Arquette and Courteney Cox under their Coquette Productions.

Arquette said awards recognition "doesn't happen a lot" in show business, "so when things like that do happen it's really magical."

"Once you've been in the business a long enough time, you know when to stop and smell the roses and really enjoy it," said the 43-year-old "Scream" star.

"With something like even 'Celebrity Name Game,' when you do something that comes together and it works, you just sit back and you find gratitude for it all coming together and working and that you can do this for a living, and it just allows you to enjoy the moment rather than just keep running around the hamster wheel."
