Zebra Mussel larvae have been detected in another southwestern Manitoba waterway. The province activated an aquatic invasive species early detection response plan for Lake of the Prairies after making the discovery. The waterbody runs between Manitoba and Saskatchewan and is monitored by both provinces. Now, a specific monitoring plan is being developed to prevent and contain the spread. All water users leaving Lake of the Prairies are required to decontaminate their boats and equipment before entering another waterbody. The province said inspection stations are set up around Manitoba.
