Winnipeg receives shoutout from Lil Wayne in new song

Winnipeg has received a shoutout from some of the most popular rappers in the U.S. in their latest song.

“Tree,” the recently released single by Chance The Rapper featuring Lil Wayne and Smino, includes a shoutout to the city that’s Made from What’s Real roughly three minutes in.

“I’m cold as Winnipeg,” Lil Wayne raps over the beat, which samples the India Arie song “Video.”

The video has been viewed over 700,000 times since it was uploaded five days ago.

It’s far from the first time Winnipeg has been mentioned in pop culture.
