Winnipeg photographer snaps free headshots for job-hunters in need

A Winnipeg photography studio is offering a small, but powerful tool to reduce barriers for job seekers.

A local photography studio is offering up free headshots to job-hunting Manitobans who may face barriers to finding employment

Two Zero Four, an Exchange District photography studio, opened its doors on Wednesday to people facing obstacles landing a job, including new Canadians, asylum seekers and people living with physical or mental disabilities.

The studio linked up with the jobseekers through local non-profits.

“My goal is to give 100 headshots, to give these 100 individuals some confidence when entering the job market and helping them get that much closer to a job,” said Mark Eadie, Two Zero Four’s owner and lead photographer.

Each person who stepped in front of the lens got a professional image they can use for their resume, LinkedIn page, website or job applications.

Eadie decided to offer the free photo sessions after making a promise to himself to do more to give back to the community.

He said everyone has been very appreciative.

“These are people who are wanting to take that next step, to get closer to their job. They’re willing to get up and get dressed and get all the way down here and get a professional photo done for them that maybe they wouldn’t have had access to otherwise.”
