The City of Winnipeg is making updates to its transit schedule, service and stops beginning next month. In a news release, the city announced that it is bringing in annual route changes, additional stops and schedule improvements based on rider feedback. Some of the changes include new terminals on University Crescent for routes 678 and 679; a new terminal for route FX4 at the Polo Park main terminal; the extension of route 48 between Kildonan Place Mall and Walmart; and the extension of route 649 to improve service for Whyte Ridge. Other updates include operating route D18: Notre Dame in both directions on Arlington Street; extending the southern boundary of on-request zone 106 from Edison Avenue to Kimberley Avenue; and shortening route 650. The city is also adding additional bus stops along the FX2 route on Main Street and the Blue route on west Portage Avenue. The changes will take effect on Sept. 6.
