Winnipeg Jets upgrading home dressing room, auctioning off player stalls

The Winnipeg Jets are auctioning off the old dressing room stalls online as the room gets an overhaul ahead of next season.

The Winnipeg Jets are getting some upgrades to their dressing room, meaning fans will now get the chance to own some Jets memorabilia.

True North Sports and Entertainment announced Friday the home dressing room is getting a complete overhaul this summer, which will be ready in time for next season.

The upgrades will include a new medical treatment and therapy area, improved workout and strength and conditioning spaces, a new lighting system that will feel like natural light, and a new equipment room.

Also, a tunnel is being added to go straight to the visitors’ bench and the media centre is being relocated.

In total, True North said 3,000 square feet of space is being added, meaning this will “position the Jets facility among the top tier in the NHL and serve as an asset for player attraction and retention.”

With work already underway to remodel the space, True North is now auctioning off player stalls.

The stalls include the player’s name bar on them as well as a signature from the player. They will also come with a certificate of authenticity.

The auction is currently live on eBay and runs until May 17, with staggered closing times for each stall starting at 5 p.m.

True North said this is the first time the Jets’ locker room is being upgraded since the team returned to Winnipeg in 2011.
