Six floppy-eared beagle puppies are safe and wagging their tails after they were found abandoned in Ramara Township this week. The township says the eight-week-old pups were discovered by a compassionate resident who brought them to the local pound, where staff say they’re healthy, playful and settling in well. “They’re showing no immediate signs of illness or injury,” said the team over social media. “Staff continue to monitor their condition closely.” Now, municipal officials are asking for the public’s help tracking down the person responsible for leaving them behind. The township says the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society’s Orillia branch has been notified and the puppies are expected to be transferred into care Friday following the required holding period. While the puppies have already captured plenty of hearts over social media, officials say they are not accepting adoption applications or allowing visits at this time due to the dogs’ young age and the need to limit their exposure.
