A late home run brought the Winnipeg Goldeyes season to an end Friday night. The Goldeyes lost 6-5 to the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks in Game Two of the American Association West Division playoffs at Blue Cross Park following a three-run home run from Matt Kroon in the top of the ninth inning. Kroon led the way in hitting for the RedHawks with two runs, two hits and four runs batted in through the game. For the home team, Roby Enriques and Ray-Patrick Didder both scored home runs. Mason Pelio was credited as the winning pitcher for the RedHawks. In one inning, he allowed two hits and one run. Tyler Jeans was credited with the save for the RedHawks. For the Goldeyes, Derrick Cherry was credited with the loss. In one inning, he allowed two hits, three runs, three errors, one walk, and struck out one batter. A total of 5,128 fans attended Friday’s game. The RedHawks will face the winner of the series between the Sioux Falls Canaries and the Kansas City Monarchs for the league championship.
