Tornado, severe thunderstorm watches lifted in parts of northwestern Ontario

Tornado and severe thunderstorm watches have ended for parts of northwestern Ontario.

Environment and Climate Change Canada issued the alerts at 3:53 p.m. on Friday for areas including Atikokan, Dovetail Lake, Steep Rock Lake, Finlayson Lake and Marmion Lake.

Later in the day, additional watches were issued for Dumbbell Lake, Namakan Lake, Sand Point Lake, Dryden, Fort Frances, and Sioux Narrows.

As of Saturday morning, all watches have been lifted.
