The American election is down to its final hours, as Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump make their final pitches to voters across the United States.

Their messages are also being heard across the border.

Both candidates have made big fans in Manitoba, including admirer Steve Affleck in Gimli.

Affleck has Trump signs, Trump t-shirts and even a talking Donald Trump doll.

"Quite frankly, the American election is the best reality show going," Affleck said. “I just enjoy it."

Susie Erjavec Parker is watching the American election closely too. However, joy is not exactly the word she would use to describe her emotions on the eve of the election.

Parker is a Hillary Clinton fan. She has a pantsuit ready to wear on election night, just like Clinton.

She even has a cocktail called the pantsuit ready to drink at an election watching party at the Tallest Poppy.

"I'm going to be a little bit scared to watch it by myself," Parker said. "It's like watching a horror movie, you're going to watch through your fingers right. I thought, let's watch with some other friends, and we can hold hands and get through the night together."

Of course, whether you view the result as a horror movie, or an uplifting drama, depends on who wins.
