2 arrested after assault with weapon at Vancouver supportive housing facility

Vancouver police say they arrested two suspects after an assault with a weapon at a supportive housing facility Saturday morning.

The incident occurred shortly before 5:10 a.m. at 337 W. Pender St., according to Vancouver Police Department spokesperson Const. Darren Wong.

“Two suspects are in police custody and one man has been sent to the hospital for treatment of injuries deemed non-life-threatening,” Wong said in an email to CTV News.

The address is home to Pacific Coast Apartments, a 96-unit supportive housing facility operated by Coast Mental Health.

Wong did not initially specify whether the assault took place inside or outside the building. When asked for clarification, he said it’s unclear exactly where the alleged assault took place.

Both the two suspects and the victim are residents of the building, Wong said.

Several police cruisers, a fire truck and an ambulance remained at the scene as of 8:10 a.m., some three hours after the initial call.

Wong said the investigation is ongoing.
