Scanterbury man facing charges after alleged home invasion and assualt

Mounties say: Stewie found the man.

At 11:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Selkirk RCMP were sent to an alleged home invasion at a home on Mclean Avenue.

When they arrived, a male resident told officers that a male suspect – who he knew – kicked the door, demanded money and assaulted him with a knife before leaving the scene on foot. The victim had a non-life-threatening injury and EMS treated him at the home.

After a description of the suspect was given, officers and police dogs started to patrol the area. Mounties said police dog Stewie found the suspect walking on Main Street.

The 41-year-old Scanterbury man was arrested and now faces several charges, including assault and break and enter.

No charges have been tested in court.
