Ross Eadie takes Mynarski ward

Ross Eadie won the Mynarski ward with 4007 votes, beating runner-up Jenny Motkaluk's 2734 votes.

Eadie, who is legally blind, was the NDP-nominated candidate in the ward.

"It's because of those NDP members who believe in me and my ideas that I did win," he said, when asked about the party affiliation.

Eadie also thanked former councillor Harry Lazarenko for his service. Lazarenko decided not to run again for election after suffering from a brain aneurysm in May

"Thanks Harry, for serving the people. What I get to do now is serve the people of Mynarksi and that's what I've wanted to do for 12 years," Eadie said.

Eadie was running against Jenny Motkaluk, Greg Littlejohn, Trevor Mueller, John Petrinka and David Polsky.
