The remains of a 21-year-old man who was previously confirmed dead have been located. In a media release sent Friday, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said a post-mortem examination confirmed human remains found near Washagamis Bay First Nation belonged to Kenora resident Mekhi Pelly. Ontario police said its Emergency Response Team found the remains on Nov. 26, exactly one month after Pelly was reported missing. The 21-year-old was confirmed dead by police last month. A 24-year-old suspect was previously charged with first-degree murder, and a 43-year-old suspect was charged with accessory after the fact to murder. The charges have not yet been tested in court. “The OPP would like to extend its gratitude to community members, local partners and volunteers for their support and co-operation throughout the search for Mehki,” the release said.
