Nine people arrested after police uncover drug network in Winnipeg

Nine people have been arrested and charged by the Winnipeg Police Service with drug-related offences in connection with a drug network operating in the city.

On Saturday, officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 2000 block of King Edward Street.

WPS said they discovered 7.75 kilograms of cocaine, worth about $475,000, along with 11 grams of methamphetamine, worth about $1,650.

Police said they also found nine mobile phones, packaging materials and a digital scale.

One male suspect was charged with four offences, including possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, while seven others have been charged with two offences each.

All nine suspects were released on a promise to appear in court.
