The City of Winnipeg is planning to modify security for city hall. A request for proposals posted by the city shows that it plans to spend more than $261,000 on security enhancements. According to the request, the plan is to rip out the existing reception and security desks and gates, and install new glass partitions and doors. The report also notes structural modifications will also be made. The request adds the winning contractor will have to minimize disruption to council and committee meetings, including potential evening or weekend work. Companies can bid on the work until Dec. 5.
