A 36-year-old North Bay man has been charged after a disturbance at a restaurant on Lakeshore Drive that allegedly escalated into an assault and an altercation with a officer, police said in a news release Tuesday. “Saturday afternoon at around 1p.m., officers responded to a reported disturbance at a restaurant in the 300 block of Lakeshore Drive where a man allegedly entered the premises and instigated a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical assault with an individual,” police said. “The accused was later found in the parking lot where it’s reported he assaulted a police officer before being arrested.” The man has been charged with assault, assault on a peace officer and causing a disturbance. The accused was arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing.
