Man dies after motorcycle leaves highway near Ste. Rose du Lac

A 53-year-old man is dead following a fatal motorcycle crash in Manitoba.

A 53-year-old man is dead after his motorcycle went off a highway north of Ste. Rose du Lac late Sunday night.

RCMP say the man is believed to have been travelling south on Highway 276 when his motorcycle crossed to the wrong side of the road shortly after a curve and went into the ditch near the intersection of Road 141 West.

Officers who responded around midnight found the motorcycle in the east ditch with the man lying beside it. Attempts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was a resident of Ste. Rose du Lac.

RCMP continue to investigate.
