When Adam Aguilar read in the news that someone in Winnipeg had won $1 million in a Jan. 3 lottery draw, he realized he needed to check his ticket. He headed to the Western Canadian Lottery Corporation’s website first. His numbers matched the winner of the LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball Draw. Still, he wanted to be sure. A trip to the store confirmed the incredible news – he was $1 million richer. “I had sweaty palms and I was jumping up and down,” he recalled in a news release. Aguilar bought the ticket from the Mobil gas station on Sargent Avenue. Aguilar is thrilled by the win, which will allow him to spend more time with family and help them out when they need it. He also has plans for himself. “I’m also planning to invest for my future and take a long vacation,” he said. “I’ve been thinking about a lot of places. I’m really thinking of exploring Europe.”
