A stolen stop sign led to a crash in Guelph and investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify three males believed to be responsible for the theft. Guelph Police said the eastbound sign was removed from the corner of Cole Road and Scottsdale Drive sometime on Saturday night. Around 12:30 a.m., they were called to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection. No serious injuries were reported, but both vehicles had significant damage. Police said one of the drivers failed to stop at Cole Road because the sign was missing. “The sign was later found resting against a house and has since been reinstalled,” they wrote in a media release. Police want to speak to anyone who witnessed the removal or three males acting suspiciously near the intersection in the city’s south-end. No further details, including descriptions, were provided. Investigators are also seeking any dash cam or security video of the area. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Steven Ladouceur at 519-824-1212, ext. 7483, or SLadouceur@guelphpolice.ca.
