One of Winnipeg’s longest-running cultural festivals is celebrating a successful 2025. Folklorama wrapped up its 54th edition on Saturday. This year, 43 pavilions took part over two weeks, with 361,703 visits recorded this year. That is up more than 65 thousand visits as compared to last year, which had 38 pavilions. “I’d like to thank all our partners and funders for their support of this year’s festival, all the visitors who celebrated with us, our dedicated volunteers, and of course, our ethno-cultural communities whose dedication is nothing short of extraordinary,” Teresa Cotroneo, Folklorama’s executive director, said in a statement. According to organizers, 14,485 volunteer shifts took place over the two weeks, totaling close to 87,000 hours. “From pavilion coordinators to culinary teams, thousands of volunteers make each visit unique and memorable,” Cotroneo said. “We are so grateful to each and every one of them.” There were 815 shows and late-night parties that took place during this year’s Folklorama. Next year’s Folklorama is scheduled to run from Aug. 2 to 15, 2026.
