Daytime highs across all southern and most northern regions will reach the low to mid-20s. In the south, humidex values will be in the mid- to upper 20s. Winds are also light across the south and most of the north, except around Churchill, where strong and gusty northwest winds will drop off by early Thursday evening. Meanwhile, Kenora and neighbouring areas in northwestern Ontario will enjoy the August sunshine Thursday, while skies are cloudier further east around Dryden and Sioux Lookout. Temperatures across northwestern Ontario will see seasonal daytime highs in the low 20s. Meanwhile, Environment and Climate Change Canada said convective showers expected over Saskatchewan Thursday are expected to reach western Manitoba by Friday morning. Any thunderstorms that develop aren’t expected to be severe, according to the weather agency. There is a low chance showers will reach Winnipeg Friday, on what will otherwise be another warm late-August day under a pleasant mix of sun and cloud. Summertime heat is in store throughout the final weekend of August in the city.
