Colleen Bready’s forecast: Mother Nature serves up seasonal temps and sunshine

Seasonal temperatures continue in southern Manitoba on Tuesday, while cold warnings remain in effect for much of the north.

Meanwhile, light snow is travelling across central and northern regions, ending from west to east throughout the day into this evening.

More rounds of light snow will cross the same general path the rest of the week, thanks to a stagnant weather pattern over western Canada into the Arctic.

Meanwhile, much of the south will see a mix of sun and cloud with minus single-digit daytime highs on Tuesday afternoon in light winds.

Daytime highs will slowly increase the rest of the week, then rise above the freezing mark on the weekend.

Along the way, no active weather is expected over the next few days in the south, except for a developing chance of snow in Winnipeg and the southeast on Thursday night. Significant snowfall amounts aren’t expected at this point.

An arctic air mass over northern Manitoba will continue to lock its grip on the region until Thursday morning, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Until then, wind chill values between -45 and -50 will continue, particularly overnight and early morning.

Further east, flurries or freezing drizzle can’t be ruled out Tuesday across northwestern Ontario. Daytime highs will remain just below the freezing mark.
