2 suspects sought by police in assault of convenience store clerk in west Edmonton

Police are looking for two people after a convenience store worker in west Edmonton was stabbed in broad daylight.

Police are searching for two suspects in relation to the assault of a convenience store clerk last month.

Officers responded to the report of a robbery at a convenience store in the area of 157 Street and Stony Plain Road on May 21 around noon.

It was reported to police that a man and a woman entered the store and began shoplifting. The store clerk confronted the suspects and there was a struggle between the clerk and the man, resulting in the clerk getting stabbed.

The clerk, a 44-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the man was wearing a black t-shirt with white graphics on the front, black track pants, black boots, and was carrying a black backpack. The woman was wearing maroon-coloured pants and jacket, black boots, and was carrying a black bag.
