Another day, another round of snow is falling on Thursday in Manitoba.

The heaviest snow band will bring five to 10 centimetres to central regions of the province throughout the day, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Intermittent light snow is also falling across southern regions, including Winnipeg, with freezing drizzle possibly mixing in this afternoon. Ice pellets can’t be ruled out either. That could potentially cause slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and highways.

Light snow, freezing drizzle and ice pellets are also likely in northwestern Ontario on Thursday.

Meanwhile, a second area of snow is falling in northwestern Manitoba on Thursday. It will spread across northern regions tonight into Friday morning. The weather agency said two to five centimetres is expected.

Light snow will likely continue occasionally across the south into Friday morning, with some sunshine possible in the afternoon.

Sunny skies will also return to northern regions on Friday.

Temperatures are still set to rise well above the freezing mark in Winnipeg on the weekend. There is a low chance of showers on Saturday and Sunday, but otherwise look for a mix of sun and cloud with highs around 3 C both days.
