Colleen Bready’s Forecast: Cool, cloudy and soggy start to the week

The week is off to a cool, cloudy and soggy start on Monday in Winnipeg and the Red River Valley.

A line of showers is crossing the region this afternoon, but the sun will come out once is passes.

Meanwhile, the rest of Manitoba will enjoy sunshine or a mix of sun and cloud with daytime highs in the low to mid 20s.

Similarly sunny conditions are expected in northwestern Ontario Monday, with cooler highs only reaching the upper teens.

Stable conditions will continue Monday night across the province, although temperatures will dip into the single digits across much of the south.

Summer isn’t done with us just yet – things heat up Tuesday with daytime highs shooting up into the upper 20s in the south and mid-20s across the north.

The south will be sunny Tuesday, while northern and central regions could see showers or thundershowers as a cold front passes through, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Conditions in Winnipeg, Brandon and the rest of the south should be stable, sunny and warm for most the week under a surface ridge of high pressure. Pleasant conditions to be sure, but much needed precipitation is not expected.
