Fatal crash in Middlesex County involving cyclist

OPP shut down Melbourne Road for a fatal crash involving a cyclist.

One person has died after a crash between a passenger vechicle and a cyclist on Melbourne Road between Southwest Middlesex and Strathroy Caradoc.

The incident occurred between Olde Drive and Inadale Drive. The roadway was closed for several hours but reopened around 6:20 p.m.

When police first responded to the collision around noon, the status of the cyclist’s injuries was unknown at that time, but officials have since confirmed their death.

Police have not released further details at this time.
