Bowls autographed by several celebrities who have been in Winnipeg are being auctioned off to help support a Manitoba charity. Harvest Manitoba has brought back its Empty Bowls Celebrity Online Auction, which gives people the opportunity to bid on hand-crafted bowls autographed by musicians, actors and athletes, with the money raised helping benefit Harvest Manitoba. “Mad Men” actor Jon Hamm, who was in Winnipeg filming “American Hostage” last year, is one of the actors who autographed a bowl. Other bowls up for auction include ones signed by pop singer Katy Perry, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, and actor John Travolta, who filmed “November 1963” in Winnipeg throughout 2025. Last year, Harvest Manitoba raised $1.4 million from the auction, which included a bowl autographed by the late Dolly Parton. Bidding for this year’s auction can be found online. The Empty Bowl Gala runs Oct. 8 at the RBC Convention Centre.
