Winter weather travel advisory in place for Chatham-Kent

A winter weather travel advisory is in place for Chatham-Kent, according to Environment Canada.

The weather agency said the region can expect five to 10 centimetres of snow with poor visibility on the roads during heavier snowfall.

“An intense band of lake effect snow off Lake Huron will affect areas to the north and east of Chatham,” said Environment Canada in its advisory.

“The band is expected to shift east of the region later Monday night.”

Drivers are told to expect ‘hazardous winter driving conditions.’ Adjust plans and allow more travel time.

If you are on the road and visibility is bad, you are told to slow down, watch for tail lights, and be prepared to stop.
