Wind warning: Strong winds up to 100 km/h possible in Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent

CTV Meteorologist Gary Archibald provides more information on strong winds in the area.

There are strong winds in the area, potentially reaching up to 100 km/h in Windsor-Essex. This has led to a yellow wind warning being issued by Environment Canada for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent.

CTV Windsor Meteorologist Gary Archibald says those winds are expected to continue into Saturday.

“Localized tree damage is possible, so too roof shingles, especially loose ones,” said Archibald.

“We’ll see some of that wind intensity diminish by about 4 or 5 a.m. Still breezy through to the noon hour, but the afternoon looks bright and sunny for Saturday.”

Sunday is expected to be warmer, up to 13 C.

Come next week, there’s a possibility for rain/snow mix.
