WATCH: $300,000 in damages caused by downtown fire

A vacant home in downtown Windsor has suffered more than $300,000 in damages after a ‘suspicious’ blaze.

A vacant house fire has caused more than an estimated $300,000 in damages Monday morning.

Windsor Fire first reported the blaze in the area of Mercer and Wyandotte Streets, advising nearby residents to stay inside due to heavy smoke.

Fire officials confirmed that the blaze is considered suspicious. Hydro and natural gas were disconnected from the house before the fire.

No injuries were reported.
