The Town of Essex is looking for workers for the upcoming municipal election. The town says election staff play an important role in making sure voting spots run efficiently and that electors get the help they need during the voting process. Opportunities are available for Deputy Returning Officers, Voters’ List Amendment Clerks, Tabulator Deputy Returning Officers, and Information Officers/Greeters in Essex Centre, Harrow, McGregor, and Colchester. “Working the municipal election is an amazing way to engage with residents and support your local community,” said the election coordinator with the town. “It is a rewarding opportunity to contribute, gain valuable experience, and participate in this important democratic process.” Most positions pau $225 to $400 per day, with an additional $50 to $60 for mandatory training, depending on the position. All positions require up to 13 hours of availability, on assigned voting days and workers are to stay on-site for the duration of their shift.
