Police say they are now investigating the Friday night shooting in Midland as a homicide. The person who was killed in the shooting is an 18-year-old man named Tryce James from Etobicoke, according to the OPP. Police say officers responded to reports of gunshots at an apartment complex on King Street at around 8 p.m. on Friday. When officers arrived, they say they found one person with gunshot wounds, who was taken to the hospital and later pronounced deceased. Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and that there’s no bigger threat to public safety. You may still see a police presence in the area while the investigation continues. There is no word on suspects or if a suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Police have remained tight-lipped on any details surrounding the shooting.
