Showers, possible thunderstorm and gusty winds hit Windsor-Essex Thursday

Windsor-Essex is set for a changeable stretch of weather starting Thursday, with showers, gusty winds and cooler temperatures on the way.

The wind shift is being driven by the passage of a low‑pressure system and its associated fronts moving through southwestern Ontario.

The day is expected to begin with a mix of sun and cloud before skies become increasingly cloudy this morning. There is a 40 per cent chance of showers late in the morning, with showers beginning early in the afternoon. There is also a risk of a thunderstorm in the afternoon. The high will reach 18.

Showers are forecast to taper off after midnight tonight, followed by cloudy conditions. There remains a risk of a thunderstorm this evening, with rainfall amounts expected to range between 15 and 25 millimetres. The low will dip to minus 1, with a wind chill near minus 8 overnight.

Friday will see clearing near noon, the high is forecast to reach plus 2, with a wind chill near minus 8 in the morning.

Saturday brings a mix of sun and cloud, along with a 30 per cent chance of flurries. The daytime high is expected to reach plus 5.
