The City of Windsor’s plans for a brand-new clubhouse at Roseland Golf Course are moving ahead — and now it’s the public’s turn to weigh in. Thursday’s open house at the existing Roseland clubhouse wrapped up at 7 p.m., with dozens of residents and golfers stopping by throughout the afternoon to review concept boards, ask questions, and offer their feedback on the proposed design. “We’ve had a great turnout,” said Roseland general manager Dave Deluzio. “It’s good to see people from the community that aren’t golfers, as well as golfers who use the facility. We’re getting a lot of good feedback.” The concept — developed by international consulting firm GGA Partners — calls for a modern, 5,500-square-foot, one-storey clubhouse with a smaller footprint than the current building. It would face the course and putting green, offering covered outdoor seating instead of traditional indoor dining, and feature a grab-and-go food and beverage service, upgraded washrooms, storage, and administrative space. Golfers and neighbours alike are invited to continue sharing their thoughts through an online survey, which is now live and runs until Aug. 15. “The golfers are excited to have a clubhouse again — a place to dine before and after golf — and the community is looking for something modern and social,” Deluzio said. The city has allocated $5.7 million for the project through its 10-year capital plan, which will cover the demolition of the existing clubhouse, temporary arrangements for staff, and the design and construction of the new building.
